Plan for the week
Newplast Models
We decided to try and make newplast (fancy play dough) models of the characters in Pulp Fiction. Just to experiment and try something new. It's a lot harder than what I remember when I was young. The bright colours contaminate very easily with the other colours. It's also difficult to make the characters look like what you want.
I'm trying to make the female character's from the film but at the moment Uma Thurman is looking like an unfortunate burn victim...sorry! So I have rethink my design and way of making them. I'll figure it out eventually to get a result I'm happy with...but until then I'll keep having fun with it! Think I'll sketch the models then to see if I can develop a animation style to draw them in.
Treatment File
We were asked to have a treatment file done for Friday and post them here on our blog. It's basically a written statement of what our current ideas are and what we plan (hopefully) to do and achieve. We are working as a group to put the treatment file together to make sure everyone is happy with whats written
Study for Test
We have a big CCS test next week that I am studying for in the evenings after college, in the library and at home. It's a lot to take in but hopefully it'll go well. Once the test is finished I'll start working on our seminar assignment essay. I'm torn between the films Finding Nemo and The Shining. I love both films. But! I'll decide that when the time comes.
Wednesday, CCS Day
Wednesday is dedicated to CCS. Seminar in the morning and the CCS lecture itself in the afternoon. So, can't get much practical work done today.
Thursday Exhibition
I'll also be attending the 'Traces' exhibition in the Hunt Museum Thursday 18th. An exhibition put together by Second Year Painting in response to the Hunt Museum itself, so I'm looking forward to that :)
Friday Life Drawing Class
Friday I have life drawing classes which is probably essential for animation for drawing characters etc. You have to at least somewhat be able to accurately draw the human figure and it's proportions before you can animate it and/or exaggerate it's features... In my opinion anyway. I could do with the practise too to build my drawing skills.
