How to write a Treatment File

Seeing as I can never remember how to write these I figured it would be a good idea having these notes :)

A Treatment File is a combination of text and visuals and should include the following:

1. Concept / Narrative
This should be a concise short written description of your animation. Explain the storyline and what your inspirations are behind your ideas. Suggest, through words, the mood and intrigue of your animation, is it dark or classic, cartoon like or film noir, quick paced or slow & atmospheric?
2. Technique & Approach
Describe the technique and approach you plan to use to create your animation. Include the media or methods which you aim to use and experiment with. For example you may discuss that your animation is a stop-motion based piece using certain sources or raw materials. Or perhaps the animation is vector based which you plan to achieve by scanning your drawings and then re-working them in photoshop and illustrator.
3. Aesthetic / Mood Board
Include a concise collection of images, drawings, sketches, photos, videos (approx 12) which demonstrate the style and approach of your animation. With each image, you must include a brief sentence describing the qualities of your visual. You may also choose to include some reference images which represent your visual style. Please also include your finished Poster!
4. Audio
Describe the audio and sound you plan to use. Include a link to any audio or relevant music tracks. Explain why you chose this music and or sound fx.
5. Sequence of Events / Shot List
This should be a written description of your animated short timeline. It is essentially a written storyboard. Describe the initial shot, how you will introduce the animation. Follow through to describing the various sections and how the sequence will unfold, though to the final shot describing perhaps how the animation title appears at the end.

And putting in this picture because I find it funny! :P
Reality! :P
