FX Project

My FYP is based around the idea of world building. I am looking into matte painting at the moment and thus with my current project is based around those ideas also. I've always been interested in the idea of how nature can overcome any obstacle, even if its just a small weed that managed to break through concrete.  I am collecting imagery of cityscapes, worn textures, overgrowth of plant life, worn/ damaged buildings, reflective surfaces and any possible imagery I could use as overlays or filters. Most of the photos I probably won't even use but I stop and take a quick photo or recording of anything I find interesting.

I'm being selective with the work I put up on this blog!

Some Photography:

 Worn abandoned feel. Interesting characters.

Reflective surface. Mirror with condensation and light.

test of close up on plant life

 Worn shabby buildings. Overgrowth. Plants.

 Cityscape day and night.

I've been playing around with the photography, layering them and adding effects and colours in AE just testing them and seeing what effects I could come up with. I'm collecting these tests in a folder on my laptop.

Green screen photoshoot:

23rd Nov: My classmate and I tested out using the green screen and each of us helped each other with what we needed to be done. My classmate played the role as the actress and I was the camera woman.

Some sneaky snap shots
Result: After the photoshoot my classmate and I realised we set up the lighting wrong and thus made a lot of the the footage I took unusable. However I was able to find a solution around this problem by creating ghostly figures rather than the realistic quality ones by using different effects on AE.
