Summer Project, Back to the Future

We were given a summer project to work on (mean!). We were each assigned 4mins of the film and we have to animate those 4mins any way we like. I downloaded the film online and am working from that, but there is a time difference between my film and the one of my tutors. The 'Spielberg' credit part comes up at 00:00:16 o my tutors film and it comes up at 00:00:19 on mine so I simply add 3secs to my original time.

My time is 1:16:33 to 1:20:48
This scene includes Marty putting a letter into Doc's pocket, then a scene with the band playing at the school dance, scanning over the dance floor to find George McFly. It then goes to a scene were Marty and Lorraine are in the car talking and they then share a awkward kiss. They talk some more and then Marty is dragged out of the car by the drunk Biff ,the bully and his gang. Biff notices the lovely Lorraine in the car and gets in with her, trying to force himself on her... that's were my scene ends!

Very dramatic scene!

The dance floor scene will be difficult because of all the people and so will trying to make the boring car scene more interesting. I'd love to be able to make an anime out of it but I've no idea how to go about that. We'll see how it goes. I want to find a quick but effective way of making it!

I recently got a Wacom drawing tablet. It was strange to use at first but you get used to it. It's very handy and I'm drawing the scenes using it.

Finished Title Sequence Animation and the re-edit

Here is our finished Title Sequence for Pulp Fiction. I learned a lot from it. I got the chance to use Photoshop properly and slowly became more used to using it :)

Background drawings and Photoshop colouring

These are the detailed background/scene drawings I did for the animation. I drew them by hand first, scanned them into the computer and then used photoshop to colour them in. This was my first time proprely using Photoshop and glad I learned a little from it. Not bad for my first attempt I think.

I like the fact it's hand drawn looking, some lines are a bit wobbly here and there but if they were drawn perfectly straight then it would just look like I drew it on photoshop and that wasn't the effect I wanted.
